The queenmother of Drobo Traditional Area in the Bono Region, Nana Yaa Ansua, is confident that Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh will become the next Vice President.
Describing Dr Prempeh, a.k.a. NAPO as a quintessential politician, she stated, “I know God has listened to his prayer that is why I have started calling him ‘His Excellency’ and I know he will become His Excellency”.
Nana Ansua said this when the NPP vice presidential candidate paid a courtesy call on the traditional council on Monday, November 4 as part of his tour of the Bono Region.
Achievements
Highlighting the performance of NAPO in the Akufo-Addo government, Nana Ansua said as a medical doctor by profession, his appointment as the first Minister of Education of the government was received with a bit of skepticism by many people.“But, you proved them wrong by performing excellently, especially the way you led the implementation of the free SHS programme.
“Also as energy minister, you were outstanding, working tirelessly to keep the lights on,” she stated.
Right choice
The queenmother said the NPP did the right thing by making NAPO the vice presidential candidate.
“We, as Nananom know him for his selflessness and commitment to the development of the nation. He is our son and we accept him wholeheartedly . He is a brave man who tread where it is difficult, and when he goes, he performs,” she said.
Tour
The vice presidential candidate has visited Jaman North, Jaman South, Banda, Berekum West, Berekum East , Sunyani East and Sunyani West constituencies where he urged the people to vote for Dr Bawumia to become the next president, and also vote for NPP parliamentary candidates. “Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is propelling us confidently into the next chapter of our nation’s advancement. We have no reason to turn back on the altar of a so-called reset,” he told the people of the region.
Bawumia, NAPO pair best to lead
In Sunynai, the traditional council endorsed the pair of Dr Bawumia and NAPO as the best among the contesting candidates in the December elections to lead Ghana in the next phase of the country’s history.
“We are fully behind the NPP, and we assure you that we will not let you down in the elections,“ Nana Kwaku Sabeng II, the Acting President of the Sunyani Traditional Council, said when Dr Prempeh paid a courtesy call on the council in Sunyani.
Acknowledging the numerous development projects Sunyani has enjoyed under the current government, he said the council is of the firm conviction that voting for the NPP would facilitate the continuity of development in the municipality.
