The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has expressed his strong views against LGBTQ+, calling it a threat to society.

He warned that legalizing LGBTQ+ would lead to serious problems for the country.

While campaigning in the Ashanti Region, he firmly stated that LGBTQ+ would not be accepted if he becomes president.

Dr. Bawumia believes that LGBTQ+ goes against Ghanaian values and culture, and he sees no reason to introduce it.

He said, “LGBTQ+ is not found in the Bible or the Quran, and it is not part of our traditions. It will not be permitted during my presidency.”

He further warned that allowing LGBTQ+ would harm the nation, promising not to support anything that could damage it.

These comments were made while he spoke to attendees at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Atimatim, Afigya Kwabre South.

He also shared plans to create a National Pilgrimage Authority to manage religious trips for both Muslims and Christians in Ghana.

“This authority will organize and oversee Hajj trips for Muslims and pilgrimages to Israel for Christians,” he explained.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted the importance of a clear and fair system for these important journeys.

He praised the peaceful coexistence of Muslims and Christians in Ghana and urged them to continue this unity for the country’s progress.

Additionally, he promised free university education for the children of cocoa farmers, stating, “This will benefit our nation greatly.”
